FAQ’s
Here are some answers to some of the questions I hear most.
How do I know that you can help me?
Do you want to turn whatever life throws at you into personal victories? Do you want to learn how to transform problems into resources for resilience and well-being? Then I can help!
Do you want me to fix all your problems? If so, I cannot help! I have no power to fix anyone, but I can help you find unexpected solutions to your problems. You only need a seed of courage and willingness.
What should I expect from working with you?
I will help you fully uncover and change what doesn’t let you live the life you want. We will sort it all out- what to discard and what to keep. Then we will work on developing insight and developing your own cognitive, emotional, and somatic resources. You will be better prepared to face current and future life struggles when they come.
“If you know what you are doing, you can do what you want.”- Moshe Feldenkrais
What orientation and methods do you use?
Psychodynamic psychotherapy develops insight and understanding about the ways in which childhood affects your current life and relationships. It is the foundation for deep healing.
Somatic therapy addresses the body and its relationship to thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is essential for self-regulation and trauma work. My favorite method is the Integrative Body Psychotherapy.
Energy medicine techniques: Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) is my favorite because it is simple and the gentlest in treating difficult issues, such as ACEs and trauma.
HeartMath is a versatile method, the neuroscience of the heart, mind and body integration for stress reduction, energy management and improving performance.
If you are interested in healing through mindful movement, then Intelligent Movement- Solutions for Optimal Health is the one for you.
Add your heart to everything you do, spice it up with care and appreciation, breathe and just watch for the results…
What is Passive Therapy and how do you use it?
The goal of such therapies is to balance the nervous system and accelerate the effectiveness of therapy. Based on curated music you can listen to between sessions, as your personal coach, incorporated in sessions or to prepare you for deeper work in therapy.
— Advanced Brain Technologies: The Listening Program, InTime, Sleep Genius, Sound Health.
— The Safe and Sound Protocol based on Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” – Victor Frankl
Do you take insurance, and how does that work?
You are investing in the most important support system you will ever have- YOU.
Psychotherapy: I am an out-of-network provider for all PPO insurance plans. I can provide a superbill so that you can claim and get reimbursed by your insurance. Please call your mental health plan to determine the deductible, the percentage of coverage and anything else you may want to know.
Coaching: it is not covered by insurance.
Why spirituality? Why Christian spirituality?
A choice for you if you believe in God, if you are interested or intrigued by the spiritual realm, if you feel discontent after years of therapy, if you grew up in Eastern Europe as an Orthodox Christian or if you are in the process of converting to it.
I subscribe to the principle that God is love and freedom. That you have choices, even when you do not see them. That the Holy Spirit completes the healing in your heart, when you pray and allow Grace to fill you in.
