Work in Progress
Besides being a psychotherapist, I am a Christian Life Coach whose work is based on the tradition and spirituality of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. I have a background in both medicine and psychology, and I integrate Orthodox Christian anthropology with contemporary approaches to healing that align with this ancient spirituality and sacramental life.
My work centers on discovering the depth of the heart as the core of the human person—the living center where mind, body, and spirit meet God.
My love for the heart had been instilled in me by my first spiritual father, now Saint Sofian of Antim, whom I met in 1990; I learned through osmosis, as we all learn through the Holy Spirit that fills the living saints. I vividly recall his words, encouraging me to be like a bee – to learn and take what’s best from everything and everyone, from both the Romanian and the American culture.
I met Mother Siluana Vlad (†), of blessed memory in 2017. She seemed to appear from nowhere – a random YouTube search, exactly at a frustrating time in my life, wanting to forgive but having no hope about such possibility for me, a time of searching and finding nothing to lit up my heart – until I met her and I learned what true forgiveness is and how to do it, that rare and essential how to … I’m still learning …
Since early 2000, I have always been encouraged by my Fr. Michael, to bring my contribution to the field of psychology and, after working with Mother Siluana, to expand on her teachings.
That’s how my life in the Orthodox world started to unfold. I began to speak here and there, at Orthodox conferences, parish events, and retreats.
I now enjoy creating The Deep Heart Method – a work in progress, teaching The Deep Heart Space Courses, facilitating Healing Through Forgiveness with Mother Siluana’s blessing, and the premarital and marital Prepare/Enrich program.
I’m not a scientist but I love science and I integrate it in everything I do. I always get excited when I read about some new discoveries about the heart or the brain, because some of them validate a tiny part of the knowledge received through direct revelation from the Holy Spirit to the fathers of the church. Science is starting to catch up with the saints, but its speed is not God’s speed!
Thank you for reading this. I hope to contribute and be a support for everyone who seek to live Orthodoxy in the smallest aspects of ordinary life.
“Deep within me
God Himself dwells,
calling me
to dine together with Him
in His Joy.”
– Mother Siluana
